How to Take Clothing Measurements
Our custom made-to-measure garments will need to have body measurements taken. All you really need is a soft measuring tape and (preferably) someone to help you, you can do it yourself, but we do not recommend this method. Keep in mind that when you are measuring, you should have the tape measure snug but not tight. You should be able to fit a finger under it. Also, the measurements you take will be slightly different depending on if you are buying women’s clothing or men’s clothing.
Things You Should Know
- Start measuring the neck, then measure the widest part of your chest, hips, and crotch for men’s clothing.
- Take measurements for the bust, under-bust, and shoulder for tailored women’s clothing.
- Measure your inseam, natural waist, hips, thigh, knee, and sleeve for both men’s and women’s clothing.
